Hey guys!
So 2days after I recieved my phone, it cracked in the top left corner. Its like as if i took a bb gun and shot it up in the corner, thats pretty much what it looks like. Its extremely strange, as I havent dropped it ONCE, but anyways..I guess I've been unlucky somehow...
Anyways, the crack isnt really annoying me at all, as its on on the actual screen. The problem is that the top 2cm of the screen is not responding to touch. Which IS extremely annoying. The thing I'm wondering is if I need to buy a complete screen including LCD(which is like 200usd) OR if it's enough with the Digitizer Touch Screen + front glass (which is like 40usd)??
Also, will it still be waterproof after the replacement..? And, can Sony do it, if I only need the 40usd replacement, or will they "conveniently" do the 200usd repair one..?
Hoping for an answer, I feel so unlucky...
Regards

The glass maybe that price but separating the LCD from the glass is no easy task and I doubt service centres will have the skills to do this - However if the service centre was to perform this repair then they would perform a vacuum test before returning your device - As a DIY job then no one will know with certainty without perform the vacuum test

@Thommo: Ah, ok, so they perform a vacuum test to make sure its waterproof ye..? But like you say, it may be difficult to separate the two. I just saw online that it's possible to buy them separate, hence the question. I guess I'll have to live with using the phone upside down and switching it to the side all the time while browsing the internet, searching, checking notifications etc. I dont have 200usd to spend on Sony Service Centre But you dont think that Sony will replace only the digitizer then, no..?

@Ian1980: I feel you, mate. PLEASE write back to me what you ended up doing, and what your quote from Sony said. Is your problem also only the digitizer btw? The LCD is not broken?

Thanks for answers both of you.

Contact Xperia care but in my opinion I don't think they will as the glass and LCD are what help in making the device waterproof http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
