Battery Charging

Why does it take so long to charge the battery for my Xperia Z3? Once it's fully charged i'm quite satisfied with the amount of battery usage . I used to have the Z1 compact which I found had an excellent battery - quick to charge as well as a long life!
Anybody else having the same issue?

Check the link above, it does take a whike to charge but it last longer

Is the Z3 new? If it is taking a while to charge in the beginning is normal. Also, are you using a wall charger or a computer to charge the phone?

It's not brand new. I bought it from a CeX store (webuy.com). I traded in my Z1 compact for it on Xmas eve. I am using a wall charger.

@Phy The answer lies in the standard wall charger that Sony supply with phone.If I use that one from 20% battery takes over 3 hrs.If I use a different charger takes about 2 hours.The Qualcomm 2.0 chargers are few and far between here in the UK
So if he needs to charge it quicker,that's what the OP needs.

Rickard posted: "The Z3 Compact does support Quick Charge 2.0 but we currently don't have any Quick Charge 2.0 charger on the market.
Note that if you want to use Quick Charge 2.0 over the magnetic connector the charging dock must also support Quick Charge 2.0. Our DK48 supports it."

Why my battery charges only till 99%. If I wanna full 100 % I have to re-plug charger. Can u explain me this?

Hi, is your phone switched on & running at the time .........if so try switching it off & see if it charges to the 100% :smileysmileywink:

What i was meaning was try it switched off just to make sure it goes all the way up to 100%........possible reason its only going to 99% whilst you have it switched on is due to apps etc running in the background etc

@ uliwooly I am going to run the phone down to 20% and put it in dock and time it.I will post time on here. Will take a while to get to 20% though,as I am on 86% at the moment

It'll be wise to repeat the process one with a quick charger and another time with a regular charger, if possible turn off the phone while charging.

@ uliwooly will do it from 70%/ one with DK48 and then with standard Sony charger and phone off both times

First charge using Sony supplied wall plug charger with phone turned off. From 70% it took 1 he 29 mins to reach 100%.Will post DK48 results later

2nd charge using a belkin 2.1 amp plugged into the DK48.Phone turned off again,took 1 hr 1 min from 70%..Next charge will be DK48 using Sony.supplied wallcharger
