Not able to pull notification bar !!

My cousin bought me a new xperia z2 phone from Australia. Its just been a day that i used my new xperia z2 and I am not able to pull down notification bar . I tried doing factory reset on phone, also tried software repair through PC sony companion. Nothing worked. I also did a diagnostics test on the phone from where I found that there is no touch sensitivity for about half inch from top of the screen.

This is a brand new phone and had not expected this from Sony. Sony service centers here in India are not even ready to look to the phone , once I said its bought from Australia. This is rediculous.

I bought Xperia z2 after seeing good reviews on interent , but had not expect!!ed this to happen from a big brand SONY.

Please help me how to solve this. Either give me a replacement or help me repair this here in India.

Now I am worried if the phone looses touch sensitivty for the whole screen.

Somebody from SONY please do reply. Its your brand..... !!!

Thank you for "useful" response.

I have been listening to the same answers from Xperia care or Sony service center. There should be definitely a solution for this. Atleast Sony center could have checked whats the problem. They were not ready to look into the phone once I said its brought from Australia. I have also seen few blogs where people have posted similar problems for the phone bought in India.

This is very disapponiting. Even after spending so much money on the phone, I couldnt use it happily for a day and moreover the reaction from Sony service center made it all worse.
