Hello,

Few days ago I bought Z3 compact and all works fine but one thing. I hear static audio noise (ssshhhhh) when speaker is activated - for example when i make a call or if i play music/video and turn volume down/off. I would like to know if this is normal on Z3 compact or i should go to service? I tried some other phone brands and there is absolutely no static noise on them. Can someone confirm me if he does/doesn't experience this? Btw. volume of that noise is not huge, just enough to annoy you during a call. Thx.

Regards.

It could be a network coverage issue but do contact your local Xperia Care

http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

I doubt it has anything to do with network since i hear this noise even when i play test sound from phone sound diagnostics. Anyway, thank you for contact link, i already send an email. I just wanted to see if others hear this noise on this phone. If not then i will know it's not normal and insist in replacement.

Regards.

Hi, do you have Microphone Noise Suppression & Speaker Voice Enhancement on......maybe worth a try testing with these either on or off

I tried enabling/disabling all of those sound options but it is always the same. There is almost same thread on this subject here:

/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Z3-compact-Static-Noise-when-speakers-used/td-p/848437

and in the last post guy says he will ask for a replacement since he found a "non noise" phone in a store.

In my opinion then you have no real choice than to either take it back to where you purchased it & explain/show them the problem or to contact your local Xperia Care Centre......link below....

Best of luck & i sincerely hope you get this rectified :smileysmileythumbsup:

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Hi. Just an update on subject. I took the phone to the repair service and they said all is normal - so they are telling me that background sound noise in earspeaker is a normal thing on a top model worth 500 EUR. Great. This really deserves detail sound review to be made via YT video. I will analyze amount of sound noise with sound editing software and publish video. Then we will see how normal all this is. Btw. same problem is described also here:

/t5/Xperia-Z3-Z3-Dual/static-noise-on-xperia-z3-speaker/m-p/896695/highlight/false#M4107
