Touch Screen Issues

My phone randomly started giving voice prompts for everything i touch on the screen. it does not let me swipe even to unlock the phone. i have switched the phone on and off multiple times and removed the battery, but nothing is helping. I can only unlock my phone by opening a message, but still cant swipe when it is unlocked so cannot access many setting to try and adjust anything. i have no idea how this happened. any idea of how it can be fixed?

Use 2 fingers to swipe and open Settings then Accessibility and turn off Talkback

Hi bmer,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Also when selecting the menu to get to settings, you need to first tap it once and then double tap to open it, this will happen on all selections.

When you use the two fingers you need to make sure that they are spread apart and not closed together.
