z3 compact touch screen issue

hello guys, recently parts of my lcd have become unresponsive and means there are certain places on my screen i cannot use. has anyone else had this issue and do i need to get it checked by sony for it to be fixed? also is it covered under warranty

since i bought it online ebay said id have to get it fixed through sony international, however the people i bought it off told me i could get it repaired under warranty in sydney. going to be sending it to the address tomorrow
