charging problem Sony XZ2

hello,

I try to charge my sony XZ 2 with charger and cable original, but the notification LED continues to flash amber, as if be charged and DISCHARGE without stopping, after several hours the battery indicates lower level than before !!!
or sometimes I have a message like this: the battery will discharge more than it loads!
for information:
I bought my XZ2 past month.
and I try with another cable with the charger and plug my sony XZ2 directly on my PC but still the same problem.

Help !

Look at the adapter,what output does it have? Is the device running resource demanding apps?

After you take the phone off charge please check: Main Menu > Settings > Power Management > Battery Usage > tell us what the top couple of apps and percentage of battery they have used are.

Google services seem to be using some of your battery,do you have internet and location enabled all the time?

hello,

my wifi, Internet and my Location is disabled, and I am in STAMINA mode.

Last night, I Turns off my phone and I put it in charge, the notification LED is red and orange and flashes from time to time !

I turned on my phone in the morning, and according to the curve "historical information", it seems to me that the phone is charged and discharge continuously !!! (even if it is Turns off). I think the telephone "activates" even if it is off !!

Please look at the picture (the time where mobile signal is red, phone turns off).

You should perform a software repair:

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

It will erase the internal memory and install a clean version of the software.

Also when my phone is on and I start charging, it begins to unload! and the homepage refreshes all the time!

hello,
I did a software repar with the PCC, but the problem remains the same.

when the phone is on the charger on my PC it quickly discharge.
and switches constantly between On charger/out Charger until the battery reaches low battery !!

any idea please.

Hello,

I have a similar issue as mahassine.

My Z2 can be loaded using the magnetic connector,

but since a while I can not load it anymore using the usb-connector:

-The indicator LED of the Z2 and the "connected to power" indication in the status bar start to flash on and off with a period of 1-2 sec.

-I checked several cables and power supplies, including the original ones, no impact also not when moving the cable/plug in the usb jack.

(An error that comes along, maybe a side effect, is that I can not really switch off the Z2 anymore: After shutting it down and waiting a few seconds the Z2 display shows up "Sony", changes to dark screen and back to the "Sony" logo with a frequency of 3-5 sec.)

What can you suggest?

Hi Badbrain and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I would advise attempting to run a firmware repair:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Hi,

I tried the firmware repair by the time - this did not solve the issue.

Further to the issues I described in my first thread I found out that my Z2 discharges quite rapidly when I connect it to the computer using USB. While discharging it get quite hot.

Additionally connecting the magnetic charger cable to the same computer it charges and the charge-LED stops flashing.

Any further suggestions?

Would be a pitty if I have to send it in - since else it works quite well - and I'd have to scrap the tempered glas cover although it is just a few weeks old...

Same issue here. Whenever it's hardplugged via USB the charge-indicator flashes on and off, both the LED and Android. The phone it self gets reeeally sloooow and the computer keeps beeping to indicate that a new device has been plugged in.. and out.. and in.. and out.
The magnetic connector work fine though so I can still charge the phone but only with the dock on my nightstand or with an USB-mag cable. Doesn't matter if the power source is a wall charger or the computer.

On a few very rare occations it manages to get a stable connection with an USB-cable (i've tried several cables as well as the original one supplied with my Z2). On one of those occations I did a phone repair with Sony PC Companion. No change though.
