Self-deforming-bending-device = cracked screen.

I had the handset less than two months when this happened to me(see subject), the phone bending to an extent where the screen also cracked.

So I sent the phone to Sony and they sent me a bill for the "visual impact". REALLY?!

Not only are they just excusing the fault as visual impact, they are dismissing the fact the phone is completely bent after less than two months of usage. I've now been without a phone for several months, and not only that but have had loss of service from my £40 a month contract which I am obviously contracted to pay, albeit reporting to the network my situation.

I am extremely displeased at this unsatisfactory quality of service and I fully know my consumer rights, so will therefore be taking the matter as far as possible.

I am also so sad to hear there are many customers experiencing the same situation and that Sony are showing no care for the matter (in many cases).
I've been a customer of Sony mobile devices since 1999 and I'm sorry to say that this could be my last device from them.

I'm looking forward to reading the response from my long-winded email providing evidence against the sorry excuses I've been given that it's not my fault the screen broke because the device morphed shape, and that the damage is within the warranty.
Furthermore I cannot imagine why Sony did not properly test the casing of these phones properly before manufacturing them.

Okay cool thanks, would be good to hear how other people are getting on with this as I've read many are dealing with the same situation.
I've been speaking with Sony Care for some weeks now about this, I guess I was just venting, and hoping anyone experiencing the same had any advice on how to deal with the situation.
Might I add I am not a new member and I have no idea why it didn't log me in properly?

This does seem like a very specific and accurate bending test, however it just seems so incorrect against real life.

And although many of these phones are not supposed to have processors that overheat and are designed to perform at a high temperature, it appears that with further testing, consumer reports could have discovered that when a phone and it's alloy composite casing heat up, the lbs of pressure required for a phone to bend, and probably without much pressure at all, are just BENDING.
Although many manufacturers will claim that the alloy doesn't bend, under normal processor heat, lbs of pressure coincided with conduction from the casing, it's just science.

Considering that there has been an ongoing problem for many people for months, and the fact Sony are charging me for a cracked screen, without any consideration to the rediculous banana shaped device. It's very doubtful Sony actually care about this and will continue to make these rubbish models.

Water resistant they say, but they do not warn you of any kind of mild thermal expansion that will simply ruin the resistance of any kind of dust or water.
Then send you a quote in the knowledge that you're not willing to throw hundreds of pounds away by having a brand new mobile phone completely bricked and money the spent being flushed down the toilet.
