There could be a few reasons for this, however do not try to restore a back up from another model to the Z1 as this will not work.

You may also want to try updating the version of Java you have prior to making a new backup: https://www.java.com/en/download/

Hello everyone,

I probably I have had since I have owned an Xperia TL is that when I backup my phone it never really backups for nothing ever shows up in the backup location. Additonally, I try to restore the phone from the backup since the software shows there is a backup in the list but it tries and gives red x's and states there was an error and it cannot be backed up. I have a Z1 and the probelm persists. I have the lastest version of Sony Bridge for Mac.

I ended up finding the backup in a different location that it is supposed to be but the restore process did not work. I backed up my Z1 and then performed a software repair but I couldn't successfully restore my Z1 from backup afterwards. It would try and then state that the backup failed. I checked my Java version and I am currently running the latest version Version 7 Update 67. I also am running the lastest version of Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac.
