It will indeed. Obviously you'll only get EDGE at best.

Have you tried a different SIM? I only ask as I have seen partially corrupted SIM's do some rather random things to handsets through my years in the trade.

was it a regular SIM card that you trimmed or a micro SIM card? do you have the correct APN settings?

I trimmed sim.but this sim working correctly in Z1

Im sure the Apn settings are correct

Should not cause this issue but if your SIM only supports GSM, make sure you have selected GSM only under Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> Network mode.
Could you try a real microSIM as well?

Its set to GSM
I cant acces the real micro sim card.i tried 3g sim but it seems no problem
Why my sim works without problem in Z1?
When i turn off data it works good but when i have a call its freezing again

What if you try your phone with the 3G SIM and have your phone set to GSM only? If that works i suggest that you contact your operator to get a proper micro SIM.
Not sure why it works in your Z1 but if you have a worn or damaged SIM it may or may not work when you try it in different phones.

With 3G it set to wcdma only
I though that my sim damaged i took new sim with new version but no difference

i have the exact same problem...please can you figure out a solution,,,as if it is a software problem or a sim card problem or the device problem itself.
