Hi Sony

i bought my sony z2 from 2 months and i believe this is a superb phone.. WHICH SHOULD LAST AS SONY's 2014 FLAGSHIP UNTIL I BUY UPCOMING Z4 2015's FLAGSHIP

today after z3 family announcement i can see that my z2 is getting old somehow while both devices doesnt differ so much in terms of hardware..actually z2 is kinda better in terms of battery while cam sensor,lens and stereo speakers are similar

now what i am kindly asking u as an old sony fan to improve z2 cam for low light pictures (iso 12800),battery life,sound enhancement especially with ur new improved engine found in z3 as we all know these are just software improvements and development, while i should expect my z2 to last more on battery usage (3200mah-quad core 2.3 vs 3100mah-quad core 2.5) as well as android updating (we're still missing 4.4.4 while we should be waiting for L update) and plz do something for bluetooth connections problems while wifi is on (i usually connect my smartband SWR10,SW2, MW600 all together and i sometimes face disconnections and wifi internet getting slow)

i cant be the only one wishing this here..and plz i dont want to feel my z2 getting old before z4..

You know what **bleep** me off ? I brought my phone one or two month ago , and it's already OLD , you know i paid 600€ for a device that already got a news version under 3 month, serisouly this is joke, also my Z2 have some issue like screen eating like mad battery , also that screen under 5 min of playing get very hot to point that it burn my finger , I throught Sony would be good way to avoid Samsung (that you know under 6 month you get a news model) But I guess it's same thing.

I paid even more and the last year i was the first guy to buy xperia Z in lebanon really! (it was 1040$) just 6 months later Z1 came and kicked Z in everything especially hardware..i didnt say anything i agreed and waited for Z2 but now what pushed me to talk is that both devices have almost same hardware and the improvements i'm asking Sony about are just software things + Z2 was just released 4 months ago!

So plz sony we are waiting for ur response

And sorry about ur problems but i dont really face such issues with my phone,check what games are u playing and their compatibility with the device and android version..bcz i play large ones on mine such as asphalt 8 and mc5..it takes good time to heat up..the real heat is with 4K recording which i wish to be fixed in the upcoming software releases

Just playing classic free to play I'll list them , Top eleve, ; Game Of war , clash of clan , z hunter , swamp attack, any of them make the screen like burning **bleep** , also I hope but i guess sony won't care , would be change Z2 owner to Z3 for a little price or free of charge

We're both playing top eleven..i dont have heat issue with it

Logically they should care as respect for their fans, and this is very easy due to hardware similarity i mention again

I wont go for z3 i will wait for next 2015 flagship z4

I think what makes it seem worse is the fact that the Z2 was delayed by nearly 2 months. I'd assume that Sony had already planned the release date for the Z3.

Well, nothing is made from day to day, it needs plans, strategy, technical backup, designers work... I think they knew how the Z series will look, when they released Xperia S. Also think that 6 months flagship life is all about money... to get more, faster. I'm wery pleased with my Z2 as an outstanding device considering friends still using Galaxy S3, or LG L7, and I tottaly disagree with my Z2 getting old, watching Z3 specs I'm tottaly peacefull that nothing really changed, just a facelift made. Z2 will be over it's time for a while with it's 3 GB RAM and strong quadcore even for next gen android 5.1 or 6.5 or whatever... we'll be ready. Many reasons and issues, but I'm a 100% sure, that's the best phone I've ever had... ever!

I totally agree with you..Z2 is a powerful device and outstanting device comparing with my friends even having newer phones like S5 and G3.. I'm not really impressed by what other brands add to their phones (useless sensors bla bla..) first things i care of in a phone are design,platform,performance.. After I will surely care of a good camera and good speakers and i will ask to profite to the max from the hardware my phone has.. That why my main subject in this thread is asking sony to give us these new software stuff (camera,sound) and improve battery and connectivities

I am surprised that people are still asking why Z3 was released 6 months after Z2. Sony had since Z1 confirmed that they will release a series every 6 months.

What I would love to see is that Sony also do a total upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4 for Z2 since they already did so for the past Z series.

Thats done it for me, two Z launches in a year Z2 and Z3...that is aweful...i suppose Sony launched the Z2 as a tester...sold loads, put up a forum, found out all the faults from Z2 users and corrected them quickly and rebadged the Z2 as a Z3. So all of us Z2 users are stuck with the problem phone...brilliant!!!!

Back to Samsung or HTC for me

I agree to most of u ppl here..
Z2 problems have to be solved and dealt well by Sony, not to get them solved on a new improved Z3, but to have them solved in the Z2 itself.. I paid 1000 USD for my Z2, have no money to buy Z3 just for the reason Sony didn't solve Z2 issues in Z2 itself..
There are minor differences between both, solving battery drain probs, low notification sound volume probs on Z2 by releasing Z3 is not a satisfactory solution, but a clever way to gain more money and foolishing us.. When other makers release new phones, the improve the whole make.. I have much respect to IPhone policy as it is genuine.. Sony is marketing false services such as 4k recording while cam doesn't Stay on for more than 5 mins, while they "improves" it in Z3.. This is not genuine but foolishing us to pay more money.. I am really thinking seriously to change from Sony to another make.. Am so disappointed after 12 years of loyalty to Sony and Sony Ericsson.. This is just sad.. We pay money and they don't care.. Sony needs better management, better care i/o having a policy to make more money by foolishing us with new releases that are not even an improvement but solving former releases that they over-market them!!

I agree 100% with u, getting 4 Z phones from 1 year and a half up to now is very bad and a waste of money
Why dont they just release the flagship at the beginning of the year with it's compact version..and release a phablet, a tablet and a compact tablet as mid-range? The startegy of releasing a new "bug-fix" phone is burning sony's market and the company name
Look at us..z2 owners now..the company is so busy with their brand new z2 junior (z3),mid-range device.. that they really forgot updating their flagship of the year!

I'm sure we won't get any updates soon..
Sony is a smart company with high PR and market research.

Think smart. Why the Z1 got the 4.4 update and alike Z2 themes and stuff only some time ago? Cause we wouldn't buy the Z2 if cheaper Z1 had same software (ok, not talking about 4K - that goes to CPU possibilities of 801).

If we would get the same options and software before Z3, that Z3 has, the new model would be a total market failure! Nobody would buy one if the same you can get in cheaper Z2. So, they'll wait till Z3 kicks the shops and gets sold out, with the "boom" effect, and later... you'll have your software update to make Z2 freshy and more reliable. It is that simple!

1) Hmm.. Z2 or z3... I'll go with the Z3 it has better camera mods etc... bla bla bla and more of bla bla bla... - that's how consumption works.

2) Z2 or Z3... hmm.. they look the same they have same mods, but the Z2 is cheaper.. I'll buy the Z2... Boom! and sony doesn't earn as much as expected.

Totally right..then why releasing a very similar device in terms of spec..just adding some mods and features and bug fixing older device software? This is what we are talking about..

A smart company doesnt loose its costumers and sell its products for a high price to gain back what it lost..a smart company should be always innovative, so that it can be market competitive..and attract people this way..not by releasing too much devices and cheat on its customers with some teasing commercials "demand great" why is it that great when it's so similar as z2? No in my opinion Z2 is even better in terms of design! Giving Z2 same features as z3 if not by official updates..from guys at xda and i'm very sure Z2 will kick Z3

Well I guess that was a Critical hardware update! Many people asked of popping out usb covers, leaking audio jacks and so on... The z3 is so fast so the sony won't drawn to the bottom of it's problems.. Hey watch this, we've listened, we've learned the lesson and we made the Z3, it's better, lighter, and more waterproof... and so on.
