Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Have you tried to restart both devices?

Does Bluetooth work fine otherwise in your old device?

If you can't pair the devices you could use Xperia transfer in PC Companion instead:

Hi....I have transfer mobile on my Samsung Express and my Z2.

I set them up correctly....sender/reciever.

I enter the code generated by reciever phone to the sender phone.

The sender says connecting. I get an "accept" message on the reciever phone (Z2)

Then the sender phone (Samsung) says " could not pair. Try again later".

I have ....6 times!

I didn't try to restart the Z2. The Galaxy had to be started to try the connection.

The phones just refuse to pair with each other. It goes all the way to "connecting" after the Z2 recognises the Galaxy having asked for permissioon to "accept"

Do I have to have bluetooth switched on to make transfer mobile work?? It doesn't say so in the instructions.

Yes, you should have Bluetooth turned on. If the devices cant pair I suggest that you try with PC Companion instead.
