xperia TX - Wifi problem

Just purchased this phone and received new in the box on 8/30 from Amazon. Wifi worked fine prior to software update. However after software update was performed, Wireless & Networks under Settings does not allow me to switch on the Wifi. It does allow me to switch on the bluetooth. The issue is not with the router. I have one other smart phone, a tablet, a Roku and a laptop. None of these are having any trouble. Regardless I performed a reset on the router. Furthermore, I have down a "reinstall" of the software on my PC and phone. The phone has been rebooted. Any advice? Thanks

In your sim card insert? I'm not sure why, but i have the same issue before, however once i insert m sim card it able to switch on. is strange.

If still couldn't, do a factory data reset to see if works.
