Homescreen stuck after call

Hello, I have Xperia L with latest fw(.17)

when I'm calling and call is finished, my homescreen stucks. I can move with wallpaper, but everything else is stucked. It is not everytime, but often. It is last bug, which I'm facing on this phone, so please repair it. Calling is the basic of phone.

Same here too. Everything else is stuck and when I slide my finger, only the wall paper moves! I just tried booting into safe mode and first time when I called someone, it worked fine. After some time, I got a call from someone and the same issue happened....even in the Safe Mode.

Please fix this ASAP. This issue has been raised in this forum elsewhere too. Also, I have tried reset and reinstall and reset and still facing the issue.

How do I do that? I think I have tried that too using the PC companion, but, no harm in trying again.

Yes, I looked at the instructions at http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Ion/Detailed-Software-Repair-Instructions-using-Pc-Companion-Windows/td-p/249946 and I remember that I have done this before.

First, please let me know if this is a known and accepted bug at all? If that is true, then, no point in trying this. Does Sony accept this as a bug?

this issue appeared after the new update and we did software repair twice or thice but situation is same . it is the issue which we can't avoid ,please try to fix it ASOP.

It is BUG. One of 3 last bugs, I know about. This + infrared problem after hanging up calls with hw buttons + data dormancy problem with battery draining. When Sony will solve these problems, Xperia L will be perfect phone. Doesn't matter on Android version 4.2.2 is good enough.

I went through the painful process of repair and fix using PC Companion and so far so good. No screen freeze issue after call. However, I have been through this before too. It worked for some time and the screen started freezing again.

I completely second that Sony needs to fix issues in existing firmware. I really do not care abt next version of Android as long as this one works fine

BTW...what is the data dormancy problem that drains battery? Just curious...

Sony don't need to do anyting for us. We paid and that's enough. Sony don't think about prestige: if a user is happy with a Sony product, he will continue to buy Sony products. If not, simple: there are a lot of choices, some of them quite cheap and with a better software support. In this way, I'll spend my money.

Update after my update of software using PC Companion! It has been now 3 days since I did the repair using PC Companion and no issue of screen freeze at all

Funny thing is: I had tried this before and did not work. Looks like Sony has fixed something in the update process using PC Companion. The issue seems to be resolved for me for good

I did sw repair yesterday and today is problem again there. Sony should repair this bug. Calling is basic feature of mobile phone. How should I trust Sony, when they mostly sold phone can't handle calling very well? + bug with IR when I close call with on/off button

I can not agree more! Being able to make calls is a BASIC expectation from a phone...I too was so frustrated that I had to switch off and on screen between calls. Somehow, it is now working fine after the update. That shows that even the update is a flaky process and I absolutely hate that.

Anyway, I had contected Sony for this issue and got a reply from them to contact nearest Sony service center. Being lazy, I did not do that, however, it may be worth trying as they may have a better process the repair. No harm in trying...I can connect with your feeling tho...best of luck in getting this resolved...

I faced that fateful bug again today -- altho only for a while and in a very specific case! I made a call while my Xperia L was charging and after I closed the call, the screen froze :(...

Sony, please try the above and see if this could be reproduced and fix this...

EDIT: After I switched off and on screen, it started working again. Also, after I removed phone from the charger after charging was complete, I have not faced the screen freeze issue again....touch wood

I would add to the 3 known bugs listed in the reply above this 4th one: a serius bug of bluthooth not terminating calls when connected to some cars then freezing the car on board system (radio, NavSat, etc).
