Contact birthday date format

Hi guys

I've been adding my friends' birthdays into their contact details in the hope that the calendar will remind me. I've switched on the birthday function in the calendar settings. The problem is the calendar thinks the birthday I've entered is MMDDYYYY instead of DDMMYYYY. For example, a friend's birthday is 10 January, but my calendar thinks it's tomorrow, i.e. 1 October.

Has anyone noticed this? Or is there something I can do to change the birthday format to MMDDYYYY?

I had the same problem but I thought it was a problem in calendar vidget. Now I know that the problem is in the date format. In any case, I installed an excellent application Birthday reminder that works great no matter how you entered date in contacts.
