Have you tried to press the volume up(+) button while you have an active call? If yes, you can't increase the volume more.

I tried the loud speaker on a Z3 Compact here and did not experience the volume low, so it's hard to say if it's a problem or not with your device. Do you have the possibility to compare your phone with another Z3 Compact? In a store for example?

Hi

I am also experiencing a low loudspeaker volume. As already reported, only one speaker (the bottom closes to the microphone) is used and it's also muffled. Can sony issue an update to correct this? i.e. to use both speakers.

Thanks,

My Xperia z3 has poor sound also, it seems that is more than just a few. I can't believe a full reset is necessary just to change the volume, that's just lazy programming and how much is the increase 10%, 30% ?

This is a flag ship model. Can't believe this isn't being checked before dispatch. I don't want to waste severe hours resetting the phone for little gain, but I can't hear on loud speaker in the car which is dangerous.

Please get it sorted with either a small patch or firmware update that doesn't wipe the phone please...

I do not find I get the same volume when a call is on the loudspeaker.

Cheers,

I also have this problem, the speaker phone option during a call is useless, is almost no better than when it's not on. Any update on this? Is there a way to turn on both speakers during a call? I saw the past that they don't use it to avoid echo, but really? Hopefully there's a fix out there.

For the next firmware update, please include a feature which allows both speakers to be used (top and bottom). I'm sure that the double sound source for the mike issue can be overcome quite easily since both speakers don't need to be run as hard for the effect we are requesting. Its either that or dial up the internal amplification for loudspeaker only.

Its quite frustrating that a smalker flagship product is suffering from such an oversight. I'm thinking about giving this phone to my dad and going back to an iPhone 4 its so frustrating. Sony, please pick up your game and give us a timeline for a fix. Thank you.

Looks like Sony are just sitting this one out, waiting for us to stop complaining. Poor loudspeaker function is not a deal-breaker to a lot of people, also the Z3C is now getting old enough for them to effectively ignore it, the early adopters wil move onto another phone soon, everyone else who gets one probably isn't the sort of user that will complain.

Sony ignores the problem, and wins again.

My z3 compact has developed the same problem. Not 6 weeks old and all calls must be taken with the external speaker on. Too quite otherwise. I signed up here hoping to find a solution before sending the phone back. Not possible now to make a private call. Phone has been in a case from new. It did work well enough but not loud but now very disappointed.

This is ridiculous, I work on the road and am in need of the loud speaker functionality for voice calling. The speakers for music and video are loud with no issue but for calling using loudspeaker you cannot hear over the other sounds around you when driving. Is there a fix for this? The problem has been outstanding sometime. Thanks
