Well are you sure about this? if this touchscreen problem is ROM based issue, Then Sony should think about giving Xperia L update as soon as possible.

Touch screen in sony xperia L update has very weak or buggy touchscreen.Does not identifies actions correctly.for e.g:most of the times while sliding page or using zooming with pinch fingers in album it suddenly misses or open image.

The second issue is brightness of screen even on lowest setting the brightness is too bright. Reading or using phone longer then hour in dark room at night is extremely dangerous and hazerdous to eyes.

Please Sony provide update and resolve these issues on next sony Xperia update.

An update fixing these issues will decide my point of choice, that my next mobile phone will be from Sony not.

Regards.
Kabeer

The touch screen problem and brightness of the screen is not a issue in the firmware, it's just the hardware that's coming short.

The screen is just not that responsive, it kinda freaks out when touching with two fingers. I always just swipe left or right in album and not pinching or zooming. And the high brightness on the lowest setting has always been like that.

Deal with the fact you have a mid-range phone, the high-range phones will be better.

Although Sony phones always have issues when reading other topics.

Well i think you are right because i rooted my phone and checked out in the settings that the minimum value for brightness of Sony xperia is 35.it should have been to 15.i can do it from rooted apps.but that not just the case.the touchscreen and battery life.i mean come on sony. I had Samsung galaxy grand duos.which is same mid range phone i could use it with my finger nails.i turn to sony because i was bored with samsumg build design.thought i could give a try.which in my opnion feels disappointed. I had sony bravia tv and walkmen gadgets.but thiis is not good thing about sony xperia phones.

I agree, before my mid-range xperia L I had a low-range Samsung Galaxy Gio, which is like the cheapest samsung. And this phone has a muuch better touchscreen. I've had a lot of fun with this phone, but as my next phone Sony won't be my first choice. Sony's developer team is really bad at making the phone running stable.

By the way, I found this 'solution' for the brightness:

Google on 'Xperia L low brightness' and you'll find something on XDA.

A root is required, if yours isn't rooted you can also install an app from the play store called 'screen filter'.

This will do the trick as well, only not as good as the one on XDA. But it works!
