Z1 compact magnetic charging problem

Excited with the magnetic charger of the Z1 compact I got several magnetic USB cables & 2 docks, and have them around the house, offivce & lab.

For more than 2 months I have been charging the Z1 compact almost solely fromt he magnetic cables & docks without problem.

From yesterday the magnetic charger is not working.

I have tried all my cables & docks that used to work - nothing!

Any suggestions?

P.S. have tried several different plugs, restarted the phone, even returned it to factory settings - nothing.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

It is likely that this is going to need to be looked at by an authorised repair agent, however please try this first: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > Smartconnect > Clear Data.

In this case please do contact your local Xperia Care to have an assessment arranged.

I have had two Xperia Z1 compact now in a month from Amazon and both have failed around the magnetic chraging. Indeed, both had the actual magnetic charging connector come off and away from the phone. I use my phones carefully and it looks like a manufacturing fault on my two. I am not happy with the issue but I do like the phones power and size.

Happened to me last week. Sent to 1st repair center, they reset to factory default and claimed to update the latest firmware. Brought back and saw it still didn't charge properly. Pretty sure it's hardware. Sending to the 2nd repair center this week.

I had problems with charging, and a few days after the connector fell of when i removed the phone from the magnetic charger (the connector were pulled out of the phone and still sitting in its place in the magnetic charger).

I have had it repaired, and just after less than two weeks it fell off again. New repair - i dont know the result yet. Definately it looks like a a design or production failure.
