Speaker Volume Problems / Loose Headphone Jack

Hello Everyone,

I've only had my M2 for about 3 weeks, and I'm already regretting the purchase. The biggest problem I'm having with the phone is with the speaker volume. The max. volume is pretty loud (although tin sounding), and I can deal with that. But my problem is when increase the volume with the volume rocker. The sound is barely heard until the the last click of the volume-up button... then it's at max. volume. There is no gradual increase in sound at all. From what I've noticed this only happens in the Winamp for Android app and all of my games. The problem can only be heard when using the speaker. Sound increases fine at all levels when listening with headphones, even in Winamp and games. So I'm really hoping its a software issue and not a hardware problem. And I hope it can be fixed when the KitKat update rolls around. (BTW, I'm still on JellyBean, does anyone know when KitKat will be available for non-contract M2's in Asia? I know its already available, but from what I've read, its only for M2's on contract... for now.)

And the other minor problem that I just found today is that the headphone jack seems to be loose. It keeps the connection to my headphones intact and the sound continuous, but when i physically pull the connector out of the jack, it comes out with barely any force. Not really a problem now, but it could turn into one later. Is anyone else having either one of these problems with their phone?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Legnum, thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear that you're having the same problems, but then again I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I guess that's just how they're built. Did you update to Android 4.4 Kitkat? As I said, I really hope the update will solve the volume problem somehow. We'll just have to see.

Anyone else out there having the same problems on 4.3 JellyBean?

I also have this issue.

I have noticed it in every app that has sound: games, sony music and video player, evetything!

I also have another issue with the sound. If I get a call, the sound is normal.

But if I am in a call and I am receiveing another call, and I end the first conversation, when I swipe to answer the incomming call, the ringtone comes from the earpiece instead of the speaker. It's loud, and i can hear it, but it's very noisy.

After the accelelometer o 4.4.4 I upgraded my phone to the C.15 kernel version. After that, came the C.17 upgrade, which I cose not to do beacuse i was told that the accelelometer bug was back.

I am now hoping that the lollipop upgrade will fix all the issues.
