4.4.2 - Battery Drain issue - Workaround \ Fix

Hello,

After a small marginal KitKat (4.4.2) update with build number 19.1.C.0.116, my Xperia T2 Ultra Dual's battery is draining heavilly. I went to Power Management & found it's the screen itself that's consuming 40% of it. It's such an application that I can not disable or stop. What should I do? Please help....

this is regular problem with t2 after kitkat update.. 🔋 battery draining heavily...

before update it was having massive battery life of 3-4 days but now within a day battery get drain out plus mobile heating..

It's not only T2 ultra dual, same as dual, my single draining fast too after kitkat update.

man I regret updating it after buying it

that's crazy time for 3-4 days

hope the next fix will fix this too

It'll be awesome

also longer life time extend battery life by descrasing charging amount done

big hope in next update

I guess you are new to Android.

The "Screen" app in the listing refers to your actual LCD. It is normal because LCD does consume a lot of power and it is correct that it is shown to use up to 40% of the battery. And if you set the brightness to "auto" and use your phone in outdoor environment, the LCD would blast full brightness to give you more visibility in the outdoor environment. And it would use lower brightness when using it in indoor environment. We have to be realistic to the % "screen" is using. We should look at Screen On Time ( the Time On in the information of "screen"). We refer this to SOT.

When I was with Jelly Bean, the SOT usually give me 6+ hours. Which means that the screen is on for 6 hours plus before the battery depletes. With Kitkat, I lose about an hour and ended up with 5+ hours. It is not too bad as I am quite a heavy user and I charge the phone every night.

After root, I use apps like Greenify and now the SOT returns to 6+ hours.

Just sharing my experinece here. I would suggest forumers to do some reading on how Android works in order to understand and get the most out of it.

my phone also needed to be charged twice aday after kitkat update while it was lasting 2 days at least before. in the battery usage the android system gets most of the power as it keeps system awake for hours which drain battery. i hope sony look this and fix this silly phone, i might think about a bug in the stamina mode also.

i've got my battery life is getting shorter after i charge it

when i bought it was more than 2 days

now its 1 day 15 hours

bought that phone 2 month ago

what is it? O_O
