When I receive an email with attachment, my sony Z3 will automaically download the attachment in the background but the download cannot be stopped. It keep running at the background which then ends up in using most of the memory, then other aplications are killed. Last time I kill the download application and restart the phone twice (download resume after first restart of phone). The problem happens again. How can I stop the download at the background?

I have this problem as well. Downloads are constantly stuck in the Download Manager. I can go to the Download Manager and Clear Data then Force Stop it which gets rid of that notification but then another one comes right back up.

I've not noticed any memory issues as you mention but it is quite annoying to constantly have a notification about a download that will never finish. There is an option to not show notifications from the Download Manager but I feel this doesn't solve the problem just hides it.

Encountering the same problem. The download process keeps showing in the notification bar even the attachment is already downloaded. To get rid of this annoying notification, just go ahead to hide it by going to "Settings" -> "Personalisation" -> "Manage notifications" -> uncheck "Download Manager". Of course, you will never know the status of all other downloads after turning this off --- kind of trade-off :smileysad:. Anyone has a better idea or solution?:smileyconfused:

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with attachments.

I've been testing this here but i can't find any issue with downloading attachments. Does this happen with certain attachments or very large attachments?
If you receive alot of large attachments and don't want them downloaded automatically you can go you Email -> [menu] -> Settings -> [your account] and disable "Auto-download attachments". To download an attachment you will then need to tap it in the email.

I recently bought a Sony Xperia Z3 dual, because I was tired of the Samsungs and the lot of trash they come with, and I cannot uninstall. But this phone is a trap. A little piece of ****. Looking for its specificatios, its a top smartphone. But its actually very expensive and is not as advertised. The camera is almost unusable, because everytime it says "device too hot" and disable apps. All the time the phone is auto updating something. Every software that comes with the phone needs login, Sony account, and you must agree that Sony use your info, like localization, etc. And most of the apps are demos, that you must pay to use. The 20 MP camera is a fake, because you cant´t use it with the 12600 ISO or other resources or enhancements. It´s like a 8MP camera. The image and colors are just acceptable, the autofocus it´s very slow. But the worst thing of this phone is the Sony Android version and all its bugs. Sony´s Android version is terrible. The most annoying is the auto downloading of attachments, that you cannot stop or disable, never ends, and uses all the phone´s memory and consumes your bandwidth. What a shame Sony! I bought this phone just becase its a Sony. But I am sure that was my last Sony. Sony, never more! Don´t buy this phone. Buy an iPhone. You´ll be happier.

For starters you can use all cameras mp in manual mode and adjust the ISO for better photo's, You can also turn off auto download of email attachments, If the apps are demo then this is not Sony and it something added by the developers

Thank you, but first, I´m not a "starter" ... When you set the camera to 20MP the 12600 ISO is disabled, as other camera resources. I know how to disable auto-downloadig of attachments in the settings, but Sony´s Android is deffective, it still downloads attachments until the end of your memory, your bandwidth, or the end of the battery. Just take a look at this forum and you will see what I mean. By the way, the so-called 2 day use battery is a fake too. My Samsung Notes 4 have more battery time than this Xperia Z3.

I have this phone for 2 weeks now. I didn´t installed any app yet. I only have uninstalled a lot of unuseful apps. I´m just using the apps that came with the phone. I bought this phone because of the camera, but I´m very disappointed with it. Unfortunately, in my country, Brazil, we can´t return the phone to the store. But I´ll try to sell it, and buy an iPhone 6 or plus.

Had no such problems, must be on your part. In terms of battery life, i can use facebook, youtube and others all day and it lasts 2 days, sometimes 2-3 days

P.s had many sony phones and samsung ones and there's no competition in it. Samsung **bleep**, even my friends with the S5 wish they had a Z3. I picked up my old xperia M and the difference is beyond belief. Accept that smartphones are not perfect and yiu can either have an all round good smartphone(Z3) or a smartphone that has ONE pro
