BATTERY INDICATOR AND CHARGING QUERY

Hi,

Can you please help me regarding my question on when will i know when my Xperia Z1 is already fully charged.

Does the lightning bolt indicator needed to disappear to identify if it is already fully charged?

also i'm having a lot of time charging my phone. i just bought it less than a week from now.

I didn't charge my phone when off, only the first time I bought it so i don't not know what the battery logo should be when phone is off but the LED in the earpiece should be red <10%, between 10 and 90% is orange and from 90 % to 100% is green

When phone is on the lightning bolt is always there when plug in and have current. The battery should display the percentage 100 % in the battery logo.

If you don't have the numeric value in the battery logo go to Settings/Personalization/Status bar icons and check the Battery percentage option...

alright thanks for the help..

it's now clear that the lightning bolt is always in the notification even it is fully charged.

having issues as well to fast battery drainage.. i just plugged it off for about 20 mins and it drtains 3% already and its just in standby mode..

also my camera is a little bit laggy this morning but i tried running it in safe mode and it seems like it is now working fine.. maybe i'll see for it in the next days..

If you don't use any feature disable it. Here some tips...

If you have enable WCDMA or LTE mode you can switch to GSM only because the signal is better and there is a limited coverage for 3G, 4G, H+ networks (depending on your area) and your phone use more power to search that kind of networks, If you don't use mobile data often you can switch from WCDMA to GSM only. (A little compromise between internet speed and battery life)

I disable WIFI, Bluetooth, Location services, set Keep WIFI on during sleep to "never" , Scanning always available off, stamina always on. I also try to keep off background services like auto sync. I don't like wasting battery power with automatic synchronisations I'll manually sync accounts when i need it.

shiuld i worry regarding the matter. or is it part of the bug in 4.2.2 kitkat..

You showed update to 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 if available...

It depends how fast. It is normal for the battery to drain fast if you use the phone for watching videos or streaming something from the Internet or play games..

I have Z1 4.4.2 and i get 2 days of battery whit casual usage and 0.8 - 1 - 1.5 days hi to moderate usage. In estimate stand by mode i get 8-10 day.

So if the battery last less than a day and you don't use the phone much then i recommend a android update and a factory reset and follow the settings that i suggested below to see if battery life improves...

there is still no update prompting for 4.4.4..

so i still can't update.. is there any way i could update?

i can estimate that when browsing my phone battery last less than a day..

i still haven't tried to make it last for couple of days since i'm always using it when browsing the net..

is it also normal if after the phone gots fully charged.

the estimated battery time is just 22 hours after checking on the settings?

The estimation you see there is based on usage statistic from the last period of time.

So if you used your phone more often in the last few days then the estimated time remaning is shorter. And if io dont use your phone you get a longer estimated time...

Great tips from alex.One more thing,stamina will estimate on how it will improve your battery life according to your actual usage.You can reset stamina mode like this: first disable it,go to settings-apps-all-eco mode controller,force stop and clear data.Restart your device and enable it back.Now,after a full charge,notice it.

eco mode controller that you are referring is the same thing as Extended Standby Mode Controller?

Yes,on some devices it might be like that.I remember on the 2012 Xperias it was like that,because they had extended standby.

Hi,

Can you help me with some issues. what do you think might be causing the problems??

1. my phone heats up when charging and while using it for browsing the internet.
2. the battery drains so very fast.

3. when using the phone while charging there is a pop up saying that the battery usage is more than the charging can suppressed that why it is discharging. im using wall power with it.

4. camera sometimes takes 5 seconds to launch.

Please try running a software repair as a first step, if this does not work then please contact your local Xperia Care team so that they may arrange an assessment of your device:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

When the CPU is used at max it is normal to heat up but not above 48- 50 Celsius. If the heating of the device is stable and the temp is under 45-46 may opinion is that that's almost normal.

When you are at home you can use the phone while it's plugged in but the charging speed will decrease because some of the power used to charge the device is consumed by the CPU and others...

I recommend not to use the phone wile charging, fore high CPU power consumption operations because it my result in heating the battery and decrease the overall life duration. It's normal fore the battery to heat a little when charging but when this is associated whit heavy usage the temperature increases a lot more. Therefore you can use the phone while charging for basic task to avoid excessive heating and when the charging is completed you can use the phone whit other task wile plugged in. And whenever the phone gets hot take a brake and give it some rest..
