I have switched off my mob and removed battery then again I have reinserted it. Finally flashlight works

I had updated the system software in my sony xperia zr after then flash light stopped working. When I took my phone to sony centre, they told me that its hardware issue and xperia zr cannot be repaired.
So, they asked me to give 33% amount of the MRP and they will give me another handset.
Its been only 1 yr 2months I purchased the phone and now I have to pay 8000/-
Is it all about SONY and its quality.
I bought sony xperia zr instead of any other brand just because of its quality and also recommended to many of my friends and colleagues too...but I am really disgusted about its quality..

I also saw many threads, many people faced the same problem after upgrade of OS. Currently, my phone is in service centre. Should I take it back and try factory reset it?
Or else the life of its flash light is around 1 yrs.
It seems that all of sony mob phones have same problem.
I am afraid now, my bro purchased xperia Z1

Please tell me what to do?
