Actualy my problem is that i tried several time to update my firmware

from R1FA014 to newer version but it has never worked (Message= You already have the lastest version... blalba).

I discovered yesterday (by readings forum) that i own a "BRANDED" phone, i don't why/how/ because i have bought

a generic phone???

What can i do?? I don't want debranding beacause it's too risky, at least not for now, I see it only as a last resort

That my actual settings:

Version de bande de base: 1.0.14
Version du noyau: 2.6.29-rel
                              semc-android@SEMC #2
Numéro de build: R1FA014

Are you trying to get OTA update? if so, then download SEUS to your PC and try to update it through there, it will work. Do NOT use PCCompanion http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/topic/updateserviceapplication/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en

It give me the same answers: You have the last version...

the fact is my x10i is a branded phone whereas it come from a regular store

and it's supposed to have a generic firmware,

ok, this is what I would do, first back up everything, then run SEUS and one it tells you that you already have the latest update, click REPAIR, then once its done, shut it down, take the battery out, turn it back on, then run seus again and see if you get the update.

Well, thanks to everbody,, , i tried everything and i have no answers from SE support service. :-(, i assume changing a firmware shouldn't be so difficult for them...

My opinion is that they sold "branded" phone like a "generic" phone to retailers, maybe they had a stock problem at this time, whatever that's not my problem anymore..

Back from vacation .... i will imediattly use my "6 months hidden defect warranty" (seethis if you"re outside of EU: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/bargains-and-rip-offs/article.html?in_article_id=487304&in_page_id=5 )

And i defintly don"t want try somethind dangerous that could brick the phone, as i paid 500 € fr this phone.
