Xperia Z2 charger cover piece loose?

So i've had my z2 for about 3 weeks, suddenly the dust protector protecting the charger port and sim card keeps falling out whenever its in my pocket?! What gives?!

I wrote about this months ago.. All covers have a very loose fit.... Z1 have snug and nice covers.

So I've been having the same problem lately and there's quite a simple fix to it. I originally thought there was something wrong with the rubber but really all it was is that it was dirty. What I did was filled up a small cup with water and soap and put in the charging cover piece inside and cleaned it while it was in there then dried it up then grabbed a pin and cleaned the edges of where the piece goes on the phone. Then with I qtip and some screen cleaning solution I cleaned the same part. And it really works. So all it was is just dust and oil clogging up the rubber making it come off

Hi! I've been experiencing the same problem. Like what you did, I already cleaned the cover but it still loosens. 😞 I don't know what else to do.. I thought of buying a charging dock so i will no longer need to open the cover everytime i need to recharge. But it's costly. 😞

Some reviewers had problems where the flaps were popping open when submerged in water.

Ive also had this problem before, i mean if its one of those "when i took it out of my pocket the flaps magically came off" it might be pocket tension flexing the phone a bit causing it to come loose. But yeah i'd still take it to the service center just to make sure especially if it fully comes off, mine just loosened a bit but it didnt fall off completely. And yes cleaning also worked for me

Same problem with Z2, charger cover keeps falling off, it is clean and in Sony Case Good phone seems a poorly designed cover,, getting annoying having to push back on on what is apremium phone. Didnt have problem with Z1 compact (just broken screen at £170)

Yeit's onstantly falling off in my pocket the barb is almost broken off now so I've left it off now it's now its not waterproof or dust proof. I'm having sever problems when talking to people they can hardly hear me and vise versa not impressed that I have a tablet not a phone.

I got a new flap replaced at the service center and still the problem exists, I went back to the service center and complained the same, they asked me to come back for a new flap cover replacement again

Would love to be able to go to a service centre and get this fixed (I.e. Wait 2 minutes whilst a new cover is put on) but the only option in the UK is to send the handset off and then wait 1-2 weeks to get it back, no doubt wiped or a completely new handset. I don't want this hassle, I just want a defective part to be replaced as there is nothing wrong with the software or any other part of the phone. As this seemingly simple task isn't possible for Sony, I've now ordered a replacement cover at my own expense.

By the way, cleaning the port and the cover didn't work for me.

This all assumes the cover is the defective part and not the port!

My Z2 has been back to Sony once to resolve this cover coming off, it's due to go back again, poor design, no way would I test it in water, the cover comes off as soon as it's touched.
I will try cleaning it tho.

hey there i have the exact same problem the chargi g port cover keeps falling off has since i opened the box and no it cant go to a sony service centre because its contracted to telstra and they refuse to honour the warranty leaving the phone unfit for its purpose.

Same problem here. I first thought that it was my silicone cover that keeps it falling off, so I triedwithout it. Looking at my phone when it was on the table, I saw the flap slowly coming off without touching my phone. No wonder lost of people write how their phone is broken after water, if cover flip get off this easy on the table.

Very annoying problem. I bought this sony flagship thinking that was simply a good device. But this flap loose thing is just cheap executed and very poor in terms of design. After only 2 months from my purchase is popping out all the times. And no is not dirty. Very disappointed by Sony.
