Z2 Camera Button is not working

Hallo,

I have a problem with my Z2 camera button.
When I want to start the camera quickly with the button it is working, but when I have started the camera and just want to take a photo it is not possible. The camera button does not function! Stall I bring back the Phone to the store or is it an error in the Software?

Are you sure?The button has 2 phases:focus and shoot.

Yes, I'm sure. The button is not working when the camera app is already opened. I've reseted my phone, so I have to scribe with my old one, but it is still the same problem. If the camera app is already runnig i cannot make a photo (for example in the "automatic camera mode") with the camera button on the right side of the phone.

Have you tried settings-apps-all-camera,force stop and clear data?Restart the device.

Now I have tried it but there is still no reaction. I can take photos with the touchscreen normally. I have found out that the button is working in the mode Timeshift burst. But when I want to take normal photos (superior automatic mode and manuel mode) i cannot use this damned button. Are there other settings to activate the button in these mods?

Ithink something is wrong with your camera apps. Not the sutter button itself since you said it works on other mods. I'm very much inclined to ask you to do an update or repair. Since that will reinstalled the camera app and everything

else.

to be honest i can join the same problem , but in my experience problem seems to be intermittent and such annoying as when i want to take picture with app already running it take extra time to get things working and wondering what can cause such glitch in the unit with so high spec

@ Zann H.: This morning I have called the Xperia support. People there have recommended the Sony PC Companion Software. I have used the repair programme and the phone was reseted completely, but the People was still there.
I have decided to bring it back to the store. The vendors also did not know whats is wrong with the phone.

Conclusion: Now I have reseted a new phone because I have bought the old one just two days ago.

@Marv_Bbg - Unfortunately your have narrowed it down to a potential hardware issue and as such it would need to sent for assessment by an authorised repair agent.

Definitly a button link or transferring tape problem.. Had that on T-model.. when pressed it launched the app, but then was like unresponsive. The phone knew it should start a cam, but later there was no focus signal from it. They'll replace the button and wires in Sony service.

@matt1203 - Provided your handset is opened up/repaired by an authorised repair agent this would be fine.

I have the same problem what should I do? Should I go to warranty?

I just bought the cell phone 3 weeks ago. I though it was a software issue because as they mentioned the camera app opens when I press the button.
