Make sure no new applications installed before problem occurred.
Try to switch off Background data.
Battery drain usually caused by bugy application they prevented phone from sleep.
How about battery Stat, any application used power unusual.
The last important ones, signal strength. Fake or I call it echo signal it drained battery, it looks like good signal but you are troubled connect to Internet. When it happened try to switch to 2g.

This standby drain definitely did exist in 4.1.2 , my guess you just didn't notice it. I have upgarded to 4.3 and I must say it seems to be draining faster in standby but not by a lot. 20% in 8 hours on standby is about normal but continue reading...

I've been trying to fix this problem for ages. Charging my phone to 100% and never using it I was able to make standby last either ~7 days or ~1.5 days. There seems to be 2 standby drain rates, one of them is about 0.5% per hour and the other is 2-3% per hour. This makes for a massive difference in battery life. If you leave the phone standby for 48 hours at the higher drain rate, you will have 0 battery left, but 73% left on low drain.

I've discovered that this extra drain is started after using google play store so it happens on all android phones, if you restart the phone it will likely put the standby drain back to the lower amount. Depending on how you use your phone alot of people will never notice this, for example those who leave the phone charging overnight then only use for 12 hours and recharge.

Heres 2 pictures showing the drain in its 2 different states. The drastic change in 2nd pic is after I turned on the phone for a moment to update an app on google play. You can see after that the standby went really bad. I could recreate this over and over again. I checked all wakelocks etc but there is nothing that points to a cause, the only thing I notice is that it starts after updating an app/download something from Play Store. This is not a problem limite to the SP but all android devices, you see people complaining about unexaplinable standby drain on all phones.

http://i57.tinypic.com/244qmnq.jpg

http://i62.tinypic.com/112d212.jpg

I've seen lots of threads where people fool themsleves into thinking they've fixed it, but in truth they just restarted the phone so its only temporarily fixed until they use Play Store again. This happened to me lots of times, thought I had found the solution but it always returned until I finally discovered Play Store as the cause. Now I can make the battery last for days and days by avoiding it (other google apps may cause this too but haven't tested them)

Possible solutions = Remove all google apps including playstore and use an alternative, or root + greenify/install heavily modified rom.

You phone would drain battery in stamina mode , If you imiidiately start Standby mode after playing heavy games for hours or doing any of activity that makes you phone WARM.

So possible solution i found that to wait for your phone to cool down. ( it would hardly take 20 mins to cool down any sony device). Then Restart phone and start Stand by mode.

This solution works perfect for me.

i also found that if you plug in to charging plug when the phone is heated, your phone will be charged in almost 45minutes (from 22% to 100%). Also this charging wont last for a long time( and battery will drain faster than ever ) so better that to let your phone cool down and use after restarting it..

other wise battery life is perfect in 0.205. recently i've used moderately my phone and my battery level was reduce to 35% from 100% in 48 hours. ( i didnt play heavy games or did any of activity that makes my phone warm during those 48 hours)

Never associated it with the play store so good work.
