Cheers Skyphox. You fixed my issue. My bank card has the 'contactless' thing and seems to be what was causing mine. Turned it to face the other way in the case, no more noise 😀

Hi, my Xperia M2 has started making random noises and vibrating, as if a new message or something was being received. It can do this as many as 10 times in a row, with no indication of what is happening. It can happen during a call, when browsing, or just using maps.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Ray

Had this problem with my mother's phone. Really drove me crazy. Finally figured it out. Turns out it was her free pensioners bus pass that she had in one of the case pockets. The chip in it was setting off the NFC repeatedly. The noise you hear is the NFC kicking in!

Couldn't believe it.

Know this is an old thread, with luck it will help people in the future.

Thank you, my phone has been driving me crazy. I'd put my bank card in my phone case. Noise stopped as soon as I took it out. Big relief 😀
