Upper Glass broken

Hi,

I bought xperia L phone back in August 2014.

I met an accident and the upper glass is broken but still the touch and LCD are working fine.

I went to one of the SONY service centers and asked for repair . They told me a whopping cost of INR 7000 for replacement.

Even though the inner LCD is working fine. The service center guys are saying they will replace the whole LCD assembly.

Does anybody here have suggestions where can I go to get only the upper glass replaced ( as I think this would cost much less)

I am not sure, but if touch screen (upper glass) is stickied for LCD (like in most of recent Samsungs these days) it will be very risky to detach LCD from touch panel - that's why they will replace whole assembly.

From video I saw that guy is preheating touch screen panel - this means that LCD and TP has glue between them and there is high risk LCD to be breaked during the preheating process. I have tried 2 times and 2 times broke LCD of one Samsung mega and Galaxy S3 mini.... So - order LCD and TP assembly or look for experienced person - this repair can't be done in home.

The screen and digitizer are not glued sttictly together u can take them apart (the digitizer abd thevscreen) .on ebay u can get the digitizer (the glass assembly ) both are available separately actually the digitizer and the screen are sticked together so that the screen doest not move behind the glass screen so the touch works nicely where what u r pressing .the glass digitizer is glued with some special adhesive on the edges of the glass screen u have to heat it to remove u have to dissassemble the phone carefully. The front panel is also available on ebay the front panel consist of the side plastic body along with the screen and glass dugitizer search ebay u will know everything

Hi everyone,

Got the digitizer screen for xperia l and got my phone repaired.

It cost only INR 2000 eventually and the touch is working as smooth as it used to work before

NONE OF THE AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTERs AGREED ON THIS .

SHOCKING!!!
