Annoying multitasking button lag

Hi,

My Xperia Z2 have annoying delay after touching multitasking button. It is visible lag between touching the button and the application window minimisation animation being kicked off.

To verify it is not an Android issue in general I checked my Nexus 10 tablet which doesn't have it. I also checked Xperia Z1 Compact in local carrier store and to my surprise it also doesn't have the lag ! So I assume it is a issue in Z2 4.4 software.

In general I found the switching between apps much slower on my Z2 than on Nexus 10 and also on Z1 Compact and HTC One M8 (also checked at local store).

Did anyone else also noticed it ?

the latest update has fixed this issue the device works flawlessly now so impressive try wait for the update you'll be glad you did

I disagree dm841.

I am running the new firmware and still have lag when pressing multitask and home.

try to re install firmware or repair with sus or pc companion as my device is running very smoothly and i flashed the unbranded dutch version

There is a little few sec lag..
The way to solve it for my z2 was going on static not animated wallpaper for both home and lock screens, also deleting the whats new widget from main screen and placing a normal clock there, like old xperia UI's had.
What's new app doesn't really show the new apps and doesn't change anything after 3 weeks, so I've hide it. Basicly the same infos you can get from sony select and lounge, so it doesn't have any sense to be there all the time.

i use the animated wallpaper and lock screen and no lag what so ever device running very smooth . Have over 70 apps and really impressed with the performance my running apps gb left is 1.6 gb the update sure helped stabilise my device and bring out the optimum performance

Thanks for tips but I have static wallpaper set for both home and lock screens. I also removed the what's new widget as one of first things I did. Didn't found it too useful.

My firmware is 17.1.A.2.55. Which is the new version of firmware that you say fixes it ?

17.1.1.A.0.402 the latest . I'm in the uk and flashed the unbranded german ftf

Great, I'm in UK too and got my Z2 from Three. I will wait for official rollout and see if it helped. It's sad that they don't ship their phones with polished software from the start.

no OEm does hence why they push out updates as the devices were developed long be4 some apps got updates

I'll probably try and reset my phone tomorrow. I shouldn't have to do this though. I have only few apps installed and nothing running in the background. As I actually disabled most of the pre installed useless google and sony apps.

No change after doing factory reset with SUS.
