Background data restriction

I realised my Xperia SP does allow me restrict background data per app. If i restrict background data it restricts all apps and i can only get messages when I open a particular app maybe it should allow or have an option of restricting background data per app too.

Yes, there's an option to restrict background date per app.

Untick or unchex the checkbox "Show notifications" on the app settings. It works to me anyhow

i cant find that option on my phone am using android 4.3. there is view app settings on my phone but I access it.

Settings-data usage,from there select what app you want and check restricy background data.

restricting background data makes app using data only then when it will be opened, it will not sync data while in background, suppose u r downloading something and you minimize the app then the download will also pause untill you come back to the app..!!
