"i too now have the same problem after only a few months of use. Can only be seen whilst watching a video during dark pictures what can i do? "

Yes. Since a couple of days I noticed the exact same problem, after 10 months of use. Bought it in Germany. So I'm not the only one with that problem. In a way I'm glad, in a way, reading all the accounts, that doesn't really help me as Sony doesn't seem to give a **bleep** about it.

Hello,

I have this tablet since beginning of April, and since few days I've noticed the little dots on the top of the screen.

From far away it looks like dust behind the screen, but by having a closer look, it's like pixels that stay green and blue when the rest of the image is dark.

It's very visible when I'm using the tablet with no lights around me.

i've tried to restart the tablet, and even when It's loading with the SONY sign, I have that!

what should I do ? Did people had that issue before ?

(BTW, The screen is also unresponsive when plugged to charge)

Hello Sam,

I've bought my tablet on the official website of Sony with an extended warranty....

Despite the fact that I have to do everything by myself, like contacting the company that is dealing with the reparation...and sending the tablet in another country so it gets repaired. They can't tell me when I'll get it back and if it will be taken in the warranty.

I'll have to pay the transportation and won't get reimbursed for it!

So that's why I wanted to check before if it was a common issue with the screen, and if it was a hardware issue or a software issue. I'm using that tablet to develop games on it, so I can't afford to not to have it for months.

I was very happy with it, but having the screen covered with little dots after 4 months of use... it's quite disappointing!

If he doesn't have touchscreen issue from the start, he probably will not get them later either.

Try not to smear out the touch screen issues too much on the internet, if the sales flop later on, Sony might drop support and updates for the device prematurally like they did with the Acro S and some other handsets

I have encountered this problem with my Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP512, 32GB/WiFi, running Build 17.1.1.A.0.402), too. The blue and green pixels sprinkled all over the screen can only be seen when a black or dark coloured background is enabled and the environment is dark, too, but nevertheless it's quite annoying.

Moreover the screen looks really yellowish in comparison with the one of my Xperia M (with white balance on default settings or even with blue turned up to 50 or 75 points). And if that isn't enough there seems to be a smudgy yellow veil around the rim of the screen, which can be seen when the there's a light background, e.g. inside the settings (then you can moreover see two yellow spots in the bottom left corner since the navigation bar turns from black to a light grey), applications with light background or the homescreen with default Xperia theme enabled. I've bought the tablet in March this year but cannot say, whether this problems are new or whether I just haven't noticed them until now.

I have the same problem although mine is less visible, mostly during dark backgrounds.

Sent mine on service and they sent it back doing nothing, except claming that they did a software upgrade (which is a lie since I did it before I sent it in).

Called Xperia Support again and this will probably result in that I have to send it in again.

I also started to have many dead pixels on the black background after 1 month of usage. It looks like a scattered dots of diffrent colours all over the screen. I took the tablet to the service and they issued me a paper that my device was bended and my guarantee was forfeit. I never bended it and never dropped and there is absolutely no visible damage on the screen or the body.

Then I complained to russian branch of Xperia care. They made an "investigation" (requested the same information from the same service ) and also issued a refusal. What kind of investigation is it??? they should at least make another check of the device in a diffrent place.

I never expected this from SONY.

SUX!

I encounter the same problem. I bought my Z2 tablet 16GB from the Singapore Sony Store. I got it for one month and the same pixel problem appeared.

I send it in for servicing at the Singapore Sony care centre at 313 somerset outlet.. One week went by and nothing happened. The service was bad, no reply from the customer care or technician. They gave me a website so i can check the status of the servicing but all it shown on the page was pending.. one full week and still pending. I had to call them once and asked them what happened, the Sony personal over the line could only say they can check and get back to me. The next day i called again to check if any technician has even start and immediately right after that they called me to go down to collect. Turn out they are giving me a new tablet. And the screen protector was not refund to me as they said that the device was still in the service centre.. had to buy a new one for myself.

Such a disappointment in the servicing.. and now the current one i am holding as the same freaking problem.. also i notice the corners of the screen has some yellowish hue.

Same issue here for the Wifi version bought in the UK.

Am about to send it in for assessment, but very concerned reading the issues here. Defintiely not a one-off issue.

And it's right in the centre of the screen. Had it been dotted (no pun intended) around the edges, that would be different but it's in the full field of view.

Does the same thing happen on the phones? I was considering getting an unlocked Z3, but I'm wary now, and much will depend on how this is handled.

My Z2 tablet has this effect on it now. Got the extended warranty.

If they're fixing this issue under warranty, I'll get the ball rolling, but if they're (Sony) denying it's a fault, then ... what?

Anyone get a z2 tablet with this issue fixed on warranty in the uk?

I have also just noticed the pixels. I dont know how long the have been there since they are only noticable on dark baggrunds, but I updated the tablet a week ago or something like that and now I suddenly see the pixels...

So is this a firmware issue do we think?

Reports of multiple screens being replaced, but the issue persisting would suggest so,

I can't remember seeing these speckles before 4.4.4, I might enquire over on xda.

Wondering if maybe someone had speckles, then perhaps installed a community ROM like CM, perhaps the speckles went away?
