Sony experia z1 microphone not working

When i use any apps like whatsapp to do voice recording or even video recording it failed to do so, but it only worked fine (for once) if i reboot my phone and if i try again whatsapp or other apps to perform voice recording or voice messaging, it failed. So everytime if i have to record a video or any other apps that involve microphone i need to reboot my phone, this is kinda frustrating. However the microphone works perfectly during phone calls. Anyone experiencing this problem? how to solve it?
