Seems like my proximity sensor is too sensitive. Always registers "on" so screen always stays off during calls. Only way to get the screen to turn on is if I shine a flashlight directly at the sensor... When I phone the sequence noted to test the proximity sensor, it says "on" even if nothing is blocking it... Is there a way to adjust this? It's a pain to wait until the other party hangs up to get my phone to turn on again...

Before getting it looked at it would be worth at least trying a software repair to completely rule out any potential software issue:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

even with the sensor covered, it does detect a change in light level for the ambient light reading though, so i assumed it was a software problem, but the fault remains after the new software is installed.

the fault is also present when starting in safe mode.

It worked perfectly when i din't have any flip cover on..
Bt din't work with flip cover..
Then i tried the *#*#Service#*#* mentioned above.. N realised.. That proximity sensor works perfect when covered with anything that is not of the color "Black".. N doesn't,seem to detect black flip of the flip cover..
Hope that they can fix this.. It gets annoying sometimes.. Apart from this.. Its ultimate piece of engineering...
