Hi All,

Had the Z2 a week which replace my Z1 and for some reason the external camera has stopped working. It appears to be a black screen only. When pressing the 'shutter' icon there is a small square shape appears in the centre of the screen and thats it! the only other icon besides pressing the 'home' icon to exit is the 'reverse' icon which works fine.

Done all the usual things:-

Delete content from memory card/internal storage

Rebbot using 'red button' next to sim card slot

'Factory data reset' in Settings>Backup & reset>personal data

Checked for obscurities over lens

Really frustrating as it was working perfectly!

Any help welcome.

Do you have Z1 or Z2?Try a software repair:

Hi,

Thanks for the fast response.

Did that yesterday and just tried it again but no luck I'm afraid. Must be a hardware issue rather than software.

P.S. Phone is a Z2

Again thanks for the response.

That acheives the same results as connecting via USB to SUS.

All it shows when trying to use the camera is a small square outline about 1cm x 1cm in the centre of the screen. The videa record and shutter button are rendered inoporable and you can only exit via the home buttom.

All other phone features work fine.

Unfortunately it sounds like you should need to have your phone examined by a service centre. Please contact your local Xperia support team for more information:

Hi, sorry for replying late! the power button and the volume up method worked for me but somehow am still experiencing the same problem as it only works temporarily. I am thinking of flashing the phone
