Touch Screen Issue

Hello,

My Xperia Ion phone screen is not responding to touches. The curious part is that the non-responsive area is just a strip in the middle of the phone. Rest all areas are responding to touches properly. I am having a tough time to make calls, type messages as call button under contacts, send button of message appers exactly middle of the screen- the non responsive area. I dont have a screen guard. This issue started a week back. Any hadware issue? Help please.

Touch screen Issue in ION

hi all,

Yesterday i was listening the songs and this problem occured suddenly and still i am not able to solve it.

Problem is a strip of about half centimeter area in the middle of the screen along with the its length is not touch responsive.

I have done factory reset also. But still it is not working. as home icon is also in the middle of screen i am able to go into apps, and i am facing the problem very much when picking uo somebody;s call or when typing message as i can use the letters which is in the middle of the screen.

Please help me if somebody had any solution or if you had faced this type of problem previously,

Hi Himanshu,

Its so unfortunate that I couldnt find any ways to resolve this issue. I have done everything as this Sony gurus instructed but no use. I have repaired the OS, Re-installed the OS, Removed the screen guard etc tec.... Seems like a hardware issue and I hope a screen replacement would help us. But none of the service centres are not ready to tell how much it would cost for a screen replacement. I have intalled a new dailler from Play store and a new message app that allows me to type vertically as the keys are not the in the "dead screen area". Please keep me also in the loop in case if you are finding any fix for the issue.

Well same thing here... I have also tried whatever u have done and finally concluded that only screen replacement will help. Yeah sure if i will find any solution then i will let you know and please do the same. Now i am using phone with the jugad only Have you downloaded any app for call pick up .? bcz i am facing main problem while picking up the call. If u have downloaded any please let me know the name. Thnks in advance.

Xperia Ion worst phone i ever used

First it was battery issue. Soon after that a portion of screen stopped responding to touches. Now the main navigation keys are dead. Each time I have to restart the phone to go to home page from any application. I feel so bad that Sony's once flagship model is packed with such a poor hardware. The only good part about the phone is its design. Rest all are worst. Even a 10k budget phone performs better than this phone. Now am thinking of using it as a paper weight as the service centre guy told me I have to replace the screen and that would cost me more than 10k. I can go for a new phone for that money. Never again a Sony phone. I swear.

Hello,

My Navigation buttons (which are already infamous for non response) are completely dead (Home, Back, Search buttons). Each time I have to force start the phone to go back to home screen. Somebody plz help.:smileycry:
