Hello,

I got the problem that I can't delete pictures from the SD card with my Z1 Compact which runs on the newest version of Kitkat.

I use the app "quickpic" to manage my photos and when I delete a picture it is still there. I just can't delete it.

I tried to use the Sony app for pictures called "albums" on my phone. And when I delete a photo it is gone and the app doesn't show the picture again. But the problem is that this photo is still on my SD Card. It is NOT deleted.

I tried to formate my SD card, but the problem is still there.

After searching for a solution for my problem online, I found out that Kitkat limitates the access that 3rd party apps have on the SD card.

The problem now is: Why is a Sony app a 3rd party app on my Sony smartphone?!

And why is this App not allowed to delete pictures properly?

Is there a easy solution for my problem?

Read more here.

About the app,it could be seen as a 3rd party app,as I do not seem to have it on Z1.

Hello,

the cause is:

kitkat makes it impossible to write or delete in any "normal" directory on the sd-card-

which means half of the apps that are important for me work no longer, my xperia Z has gone practically useless.

If there is no solution very soon i am back to the apple (or windows phone)
