Email app not pushing emails

Hi I just bought my Sony xperia z1 coming from iphone. I tried setting up my email which worked, I set it to automatic push but it wont push emails on my phone. I get no notifications or anything. in order to see my emails i have to manually refresh the email app. maybe i got the settings wrong. does anyone know how to set up email on the z1? i have a hotmail account.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Perhaps you don't have auto sync enabled under settings > auto sync, if off, turn it on. Then go to email under accounts in the same menu > press on your Hotmail account > mark 'sync emails'.

Then it should work.

If you still experience problem I suggest that you download Microsoft Outlook (Hotmail) application from Google Play:
