My Z1 took some water despite the fact that the USB port cover was not damaged and locked in place... The phone got affected but I manage to load the Xperia Transfer Apps and created on the phone internal memory the xperia_transfer.zip file which is 665 Mb

The Save and Restore PC application crashed to recover the data from the phone and the XperiaTM Transfer crashed too.

I unzipped the ZIP file which contain 6 files named:

bookmarks.xml 10 Ko

calendar.xml 7 Ko

call_log.xml 63 Ko

contacts.xml 127 ko

information.xml 1 Ko

sms_backup.xml 663 864 Ko

Is there a way to use these files to restore an Xperia ?

Hi, Alta

You're in the wrong room, man. This sub-forum is for Xperia SP. I got an Xperia Z1 too, I don't have a problem with it except the 20MP grainy camera until now. Hope it will be always okay

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

As far as I know, you cannot recover any data from this .zip-file. I'm not sure, but if you move this .zip-file to a USB memory and use our program PC Companion and the function Xperia Transfer, you should be able to restore the information on a new Xperia device.

You aslo might be able to move the .zip-file to the new Xperia device and run Xperia Transfer via PC Companion and when asked to connect the new phone, you just disconnect the phone and connect it again to retreive the info.
