Emails not deleting

When I delete emails from my Sony z1 they appear to be deleted but the notification to say I have emails still appear. (eg 3 above the envelope - to show I have 3 emails).

When I check my emails on the computer all the emails are still there and have no been deleted?

How can I change the settings to fully delete the email.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Try these steps: Main Menu > Email > Menu > Settings > Tap the account you wish to edit > Tap Incoming Settings > Tap the Delete Email from Server option and adjust it to your preference.
