Xperia V external speaker problem

I bought a external speaker hoping to use it with my xperia phone but it wouldn't connect and the phone speaker would be playing sound instead of the external speaker. i tried to clean the ports but it does not work.

that **bleep** big time! it can be used on every other phone, old samsung phones, nokias and etc. argh stupid phone

you say it your self,OLD samsung..you can use it on OLD sony phone when there were no compatability issue
