Xperia Z1 - Update - Possible delay time?

* The update is out for my country, uk,

* The support page for z1 says kitkat is out

* The phone is unlocked from manufacturer date, so its not locked to any network,

SO, what am I waiting for, as the update has not appeared in my notification area, or in the app "update"

The program on windows shows nothing for updates to.

Kitkat for Generic/unbranded has not released in the UK (and other) yet. You can check it if you download "xperia update checker".

Why would the support page " http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/software/phones/xperia-z1/ " tell me it is out, I changed the site to the "uk" every media site is saying the update is being seeded,

Android version: Google Android 4.4 (Kitkat)

Latest available software: 14.3.A.0.681

You might be better off - A lot of us (all of us?) are experiencing issues due to the update.

You can fix the issues with a battery reset, crazy as it sounds, users with the update, say it solves the problem,

Power off the phone, or try it powered on,

Press and hold both the power and volume buttons, after the third fibration, let go and power on the phone,

If that does not help, do a factory reset, delete everything from the phone and very importantly, the SD card, most people over look the SD card, because you back stuff up there, however android also leaves app settings on the SD card to,

I'm still waiting for the update, I don't know why but every sony phone I get, I seem to be the last one getting the update

Seems like they want to be 100% sure before releasing anything on the generic devices... Or sony, for marketing reasons maybe, prefers firstly to give the opgrades to mobile networks and afterwards to unbranded - generic devices owners.

I'm having a right-old slap fight getting anything out of SonyMobile UK Support; the latest email going back to them is:

Current build number : 14.2.A.0.290 (Android version 4.3)

Sony PC Companion: "Sony Xperia Z1™ (C6903) Your phone / tablet is up to date Checked Today (29/03/2014 11:54)"

Settings / About phone / Software update / System - your device already has the latest available system updates

Care to explain why a UK-sourced sim-free unbranded headset still can't update ? Seems to be against all UK sim-free C6903 headsets.

Please note that as the 4.2 to 4.3 update has broken functionalty that was working [Bluetooth audio], and yet no one can give me an answer why this particular headset can't be updated to fix this issue [later 4.3, 4.4 updates], I judge this as not fit for purpose. Only Sony is stopping the update appearing; no one else. Can someone at Sony can give me a meaningful answer why, and not a pre-scripted piece of text?

I'm not holding my breath.
