Issues with birthdays and facebook

Hi!

After upgrading to kitkat, Facebook With Xperia does not show birthdays in my calendar anymore. I use calendar widgets that shows calendar events. The facebook EVENTS shows fine, just not birthdays. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes The XPeria with facebook is selected as a calendar. And it does work sort of because normal events from facbeook show up.

Hi,

Birthdays are not added as an appointment in the calendar, it's more like an overlay like the weather forecast. And as I understand, the calendar widget only shows appointments.

Thanks for the response. They were added as appointments before. I am not sure if this is due to older version of xperia with facebook, or facebook / facebook messenger itself.

Aren't Facebook birthdays synced with xperia? They do show up as events inside facebook itself. Is there some filtering?

I don't know why this changed. Try with another calendar or another calendar widget from Google Play Store to see if they acting differently. Like Google Calendar or Smooth calendar widget.

Same issue here on Z1 Compact. Birthdays won't come up on the widge, however I can see theme when I open the Calendar app. Please fix this, really important for lot's of us!!!

Hi All,

Just got my "precious", clean updated to .757, everything works fine (have the notification sound bug tough), but I have a huge problem. The facebook events/birthdays won't come up in the calendar widget. The sync works correctly, I can see them when I open the Calendar app. As a quick and dirty solution, I installed the Facebook Calendar Sync app from Google Play. With this there are plenty more visible calendars to show. But this is really awful, is there any workaround to make the native apps and sync working?? Maybe with an update? This is a big issue for me (and as I can read for others too), please fix it!

i have the same issue

after updating to kitkat i cant see my facebook birthdays in calendar widget

it appear on the calender app but not in the widget

tried several widgets but the problem still persists

yes i have enabled the fb calendar in google calendar

cleared the cash and data in calendar app and calendar storage

still no luck

so any ideas?

Unfortunally no resolution yet. I tried a birthday adapter that creates a calendar from birthdays in the calendar ironically. It doesn't work properly...

As a result I have missed a lot of birthdays that I could have congratulated
