Cut and paste bug?

Hi - When I copy and paste some text (e.g. to send someone a link), that text keeps inserting itself into a message in the standard Xperia text message app. I'll explain with an example:

I copy some paste from a web page and paste it into a new text message to someone
The message sends OK
When I go back into the text message app, the copied text has been pasted into a new, empty message
If I want to send a message, I need to delete the pasted text before typing
The only way I've found to get around this is to reboot the phone

All of the software is up to date and it's a UK SIM-free phone. I've probably not described the problem very well, but has anybody else seen this?

backup your messages (SMS, MMS) and then

settings > apps > all > messaging > clear data > restart your phone
