Hi,

I have a very similar issue to this. The battery indicator shows normal usage, then suddenly the phone indicates battery remaining 1% and shuts down unless I can get it plugged in within a couple of seconds. If I plug it in, the battery level almost immediately goes back up to the level it was at before the nosedive (say battery was showing 60%, it goes to 1% then back to 60% immediately the charger is plugged in.

I have an almost new spare battery which behaves the same way, so it's not a battery issue.

I did a complete wipe & reinstall last night using SUS, hoping this might clear it. However, same issue this morning. I managed to get it onto the charger and take a screenshot of the battery usage monitor, see below :-

The ~30mins usage was me re-configuring phone settings after the reinstall, hence the high display usage. The graph clearly shows a normal battery decline before the sudden nosedive, and also shows it returning immediately to the previous level once plugged in. After a few minutes I unplugged the phone - the 98% charge shown on the graph above remained for 5mins or so then went back to 1% and shutdown.

If I restart the phone without plugging in, the phone boots and initially shows a normal battery level (as it was before the nosedive) for a few minutes, then goes back to 1% and shuts down.

Can anyone explain this? Is there a fix or am I looking for a new phone?

Thanks

Richard.

Try this:charge the phone to 100%(let it charge for 1 hour),remove the battery and put it back in.Do not turn on the phone.

Download SUS and repair:

Does the phone even disconnects when you follow the process in Update Service beavuse the phone shall be turned off during the whole update procedure.

If you can't update/repair the phone software using Update Service, I suggest that you have your phone examined by a service center. Please contact your local Xperia support team for more information:

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
