Restricted access changed

I using Sony Xperia Z (C6603) since jan 17, 2014. my operating system is 4.3 jelly bean. sometimes a notification displayed that "Restricted access changed emergency service is blocked". i don't know why this type of notification displayed and how will i solve/stop this problem/notification.

Pls help me above mentioned notification to stop.

Do you have a SIM in your phone?Does the same happen if you remove it?

I haven't seen this before. It sounds like a network message. Could you upload a screenshot of the notification?

I am having this exact same problem. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z running Android 4.4.2. Ever since updating, my phone has been so unreliable that I'm considering switching to my old one until an update comes out to mend the lovely additions of the last one.

I have used the fix for short battery life as provided in the Sony forums (disabling Google Play Services) so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this. Today though, I have had about 50 (not exaggerating) notifactions from my phone that says "Restricted Access Changed - Voice Service Blocked." It comes for a few seconds, occasionally knocks out my reception and then leaves just as abruptly as it came. You can't press on the notification because if you do it just disappears.

My current network mode is WCDMA (preferred)/GSM. I have also used LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM and the problem occurs then as well. My phone bill is paid up so it definitely isn't an overdue bill or anything like that. In my not so professional opinion, I think it is a new and improved glitch from 4.4.2.

I've attached a screenshot as requested, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

This message indicates that there's a problem with the network or your SIM card. I recommend that you first contact your operator to check if they are aware of any issue with the network in your area. If there's no network issue i recommend that you try the phone with another SIM card.

I have the same problem and this came after the 4.4 update, I'm from Yemen and using MTN network, before the update everything was OK

Im having problems with my phone I have sony experia m2 I keep getting message saying restricted access changed. Data service is blocked

Hi All,

I too experienced similar issue and found the fix ...

The problem is not because of any upodate's. in Android 4.4 you need to select the your network service type, like GSM, WCDMA, LTE.....

Settings => Wireless & Networks => More => Mobile Networks => Network Mode.

Select the corresponding network mode and Select Network Operators and choose your service provider...

That's All...

Now you can make call's as usual.....

Selecting the mobile network mode and provider does not solve the problem unfortunately - at least, not for me.

I've been experiencing this problem (Restricted access changed Data service blocked) since 16/01/2015 - it disappears briefly then appears again.

I even tried a factory reset on the phone (luckily I've only had it a short time).

I have the X1 Compact phone with the Virgin Mobile provider.

Does anyone has an update on this? I started having the problem on 1st August after a major festival that blocked most networks. Days later I still have the issue and I noticed my mobile data isn't working anymore. WiFi is perfect, but no mobile internet. I went to the operator shop today that told me it could be a virus and to hard reset the phone, I did it but I knew it wouldn't help. I will go and demand to try swap the sim with one that has working internet mobile and see if the issue lays on their side or mine. It was fine and then all of a sudden this I have tried manually changing the Network Operator but nothing helped.

You can actually use apps like notify block to stop the "restricted access changed service blocked" notification on your Android phone.
