Hi.

I have just ordered a Sony SP so I can`t speak with any authority regarding the images. However; I am a keen amature photographer. So I do know something about grainy images.

1 Have you checked the ISO setting, if this is something like 1600 it will make the camera in your phone more sensitive to low light conditions but it will produce grainy images.

2 Set the ISO to 100, now you will have lost the grainy image, but the image might be darker.

3 If the image is darker, ajust the f number to the smallest available. This is opening the Aperture of the camera.

4 Finally, If the image is to bright now, increase the shutter spead to between250th & 450th of a second.

I guess I am about to find out what the camera will do for myself. Anyway; lets hope this is of some help to you.

Hi. I have xperia sp.

It has the worst 8MP camera i'v ever seen.

images and videos are always grainy no matter what light conditions are.

every image has noise. its quality is equivalent to some 2MP shooter.

Is any one experiencing same issue? Is this software issue or hardware??

Please help me. after spending so much of money m not at all happy with the camera quality.... feeling cheated

xperia SP

You'll get cheated with any smart phone out there if you're looking for a decent camera.. especially Sony (worst camera iv ever had in a smartphone)

Buy a digital camera or DSLR for pictures.. not a PHONE.

I am not expecting quality as that of a digital camera.

i am saying this because i have compared pics taken by xperia sp and xperia L.
(in auto mode and in manual mode with same settings.)
xperia L inspite of
being cheaper than xperia sp has nice camera quality and much less noise whereas
xperia sp always has noise which drastically reduces the quality as compared to
xperia L (Which is cheaper 8MP shooter)
and i am saying it because sony is
advertising xperia sp and xperia L both for 8 mp shooter with "Sony Exmor RS™
for mobile image sensor"
How the same sensor with same resolution can produce
so much of noise on xperia sp
