Weather widget update location?

Hi

I like the weather widget that comes stock, however I cannot get it to change to my location automatically. I have to manually update the city.

Can I change this?

What if you clear the app/widget data and check again

settings > apps > all > look for the app

Thanks but the widget finds my location fine but only if I manually do it. It doesn't automatically update my location

Yes - anti virus. The time on the widget updates, just not the location.

Try to temporarily disable the antivirus.

Uninstall the antivirus > restart your phone > check again.

Do you have a battery app? or stamina mode on?

Stamina mode on but this is unrelated. The app is updating with new weather and time, but my location does not update automatically. It stays at the location I originally set.

I've tried and no change. The weather updates, just not the location I'm currently at.

try this

delete the widget, then settings > apps > all > weather > clear data > restart your phone

re-add the widget > tap to configure > do NOT enter the city, click on use current location

I have the Z1 and I was able to recreate your issue, and that suggestion above solved the issue for me, let us know if it works out for you

Should I add the widget to stamina mode whitelist if possible? I don't see this being a problem though as I mentioned earlier, the temp and time refreshed update just not the location.

I'm sorry to hear that and you GPS its on and all those permisions are on too, turn off stamina mode and check again

At the moment, there is no support in the preinstalled weather widget to automatically update your location. You have to manually set your location.
