Xperia SP automatically restarting when Choosing Input Method

After update to 4.3 android, my Xperia SP crashes and reboots everytime i try to change my keyboard Choose Input Method from the drag down menu when im typing. Tried this at least 5 times and even force stopped android system but it does not work. Please help? Im trying to change my input method to chinese and im stuck on International keyboard.

I got this problem too once. What I did is clear the data of all Keyboard app including Xperia Keyboard and Custom Keyboard I installed from Play Store.

I'm actually having that same issue after charging my phone, it automatically turned off and when i tried ot power on it just keeps on restarting over and over and it's getting irritating, so what is it going to be like that forever, i cant re start and do something about the settings anymore. By the way, it all happened afetr i updated to android 4.3.

Really disaapointed with this phone.

Try to repair your phones using Sony Update Service or PC Companion.

i tried, i guess it's not working; is there a way to undo the update instead, its just giving me too much of a headache

Also, have you tried to press and hold "Power Button" and "Volume Up" at the same time about 10 seconds (3 vibrates) > Charge the phone for 1 hrs > and then repair with Sony Update Service?

Tried sony update service and nothing needs updating. Im using a mac. When i hold power button and volume up for 20 seconds nothing happens. Can i get some help om this its really frustrating when my only language input i need is chinese and chinese input is not an option on the default international xperia keyboard.
Also how do i clear the data on xperia keyboard

In your case charge the phone for 1 hr and then repair it with Bridge for Mac

Also you can try the following:

Settings > Apps > All > Xperia keyboard > Clear data/cache > Force stop + restart the phone and then check if the issue still persists.

I also have this problem, I can't use other keyboard applications because it keeps on restarting. I can't also change the default keyboard settings. What to do, Sony? The 4.3 update ruined the beauty of my Xperia TX. It's not awesome anymore, it annoys me.

Same here, description is same with j_thomson27 above. Getting really frustrating. I'm on Xperia V.

Edit, a bit more details:

My phone is LT25i.

Problems started after 4.3 upgrade.

I tried the clearing of all the cache and force stops from the apps, then restarting - only to now have Chinese default keyboard which I cannot change.

Trying to change the Default keyboard from Language & input settings will result in immediate reboot of device, same when trying to switch input method from any app.

...and latest 9.2.A.1.199 upgrade of 4.3 did not fix it.

Funny, for every app you can easily email or report of any mishaps and the fix is there sometimes within hours.

I have yet to find any way to inform Sony directly of SW faults in the device itself. If anyone knows how to report these issues, please let me know!

Edit II:

Got it fixed by running the repair on the PC Companion.

It does not make me altogether happy, though, as it's a lot of trouble going through - the repair practically factory resets the phone and you need to set everything up again.

On the other hand it does clear the table, which is always good.

Edit III:

After the phone just sat alone for the night the problem is back in the morning.

I have the same problem. I try to change the theme with default theme, then i restart my phone. Turn it on, and my xperia sp running normally.

my sony xperia m also reboots when i tried to change keyboard type and it is updated to latest version 4.3. 😕
