Device Can't be located !!

I have registered for the services to locate the device, but unfortunately when I navigate the same from the url myxperia.sonymobile.com and trying to locate the device, it's shows the error message "We currently are not able to find
your device, we will send an email when we find it". And even I never received the mail related to location even after a week.

For the device to be located GPS and Data must be on

Thommo is right,if internet is not enabled on your phone(with GPS),it will not work.
